How to View Unofficial Transcripts

Unofficial transcripts may be viewed in Patriot Web by the student and by any authorized advisor. To receive authorization, you must submit a request form (obtained from your unit's Banner Student Liaison) with proper signatures and attend required training.

You have the right to view a student's unofficial transcript for legitimate educational needs, i.e., student advisement. Please note that transcripts should not be accessed for non-University
business, such as letters of recommendation. For these purposes, please instruct the student to provide you with a copy of his/her official transcript and other relevant documentation.

Directions:
  1. Log on Patriot Web
  2. Select "Faculty and Advisor Services"
  3. Select "Student Information Menu"
  4. Select "Academic Transcript"
  5. Select the most current term and click "Submit"
  6. Enter the student's GNumber and click “Submit”. If you do not know the student's Gnumber, you may search by entering the student's first and/or last names in the appropriate boxes and select a search type.
  7. The full name of the student you selected will display, and you will be asked to verify this selection. If you searched by name, multiple selections may be returned. In this case, you must select the correct student from the drop-down list. Click "Submit" to confirm your selection.
  8. From the drop-down list, select the level of coursework you wish to view, then select "Display Transcript".

The “What-If” Analysis is designed as an advising tool which lets the advisor pick and choose certain degree components. This is an unofficial evaluation. It can be used to see what the student’s evaluation would look like if they added a minor or changed catalog years. *Students with double majors must run two separate evaluations for each major.*

  1. Follow steps #1 - #6 above.
  2. Instead of selecting "Generate New Evaluation", select "What-If Analysis"
  3. Use the drop down box to select the student's correct entry term (a.k.a Catalog year)* and click “continue”
  4. Use the drop down box to select their major and click “continue”
  5. Use the drop down box to select “First Major” (only one option will be available)
  6.  If the student has a concentration or minor on their record please click the “add more” button. If they do not have any additional program components click “submit”.
  7. Click "Generate Request"
  8. Select "Detail Requirements"
  9. Click "Submit"

*If you are unsure what catalog year the student is using you can find out through PatriotWeb. Go to Student Services tab, View Student Information link, and the catalog year will be displayed under the curriculum information.
