Spring 2013 Semester

Monday, March 25
  • George Mason University administrative offices will open at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 25th due to inclement weather. Classes beginning at 10:30 a.m. or after will be held as scheduled.

For classes cancelled on Mon, March 25 before 10:30am,  instructors may arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis or schedule their class on Tuesday, May 7 unless otherwise used for class cancelled on Wed, March 6th. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department's scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Instructors are reminded to contact students, directly or via Blackboard, on adjustments in patterns of assignments in the courses for which they are responsible.

Wednesday, March 6
  • On Wednesday March 6, 2013, classes are cancelled and administrative offices are closed across all campuses of George Mason University. 

For classes cancelled on Wed, March 6th,  instructors may arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis or hold their class on Tuesday, May 7. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department's scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Monday, January 28
  • George Mason University administrative offices opened at 10:30 a.m. Monday January 28th due to inclement weather. Classes beginning at 10:30 a.m. or after will be held as scheduled.

Thursday, January 24
  • George Mason University opened January 24 at  9:00 a.m. due to inclement weather.

For classes cancelled on January 24th, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department's Scheduling Coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Fall 2012 Semester

Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30
  • Due to inclement weather, classes were canceled and administrative offices were closed across all campuses of George Mason University on Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30. 

The make up day for Monday, October 29 is now Monday, December 10.

The make up day for Tuesday, October 30 is now Tuesday, December 11.

Final exams that were scheduled for Tuesday, December 11 will now be held on Tuesday, December 18.

Instructors are reminded to contact students, directly or via Blackboard, on adjustments in patterns of assignments in the courses for which they are responsible.

 


Summer 2012 Semester

Saturday, June 30
  • Due to an extensive power outage, all George Mason University classes have been cancelled and administrative offices are closed before 4:00pm.
For classes canceled on Saturday, June 30th (before 4:00pm), professors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Summer Term Office to secure an appropriate classroom.

 


Spring 2012 Semester

Thursday, February 16
  • Bull Run Hall on the Prince William Campus was without power. All activities, classes, and events scheduled in Bull Run Hall on Thursday February 16th were cancelled before 4:30pm. 
For classes canceled on Thursday, February 16 (before 4:30pm), professors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

 


Fall 2011 Semester

Monday, October 24
  • David King Hall and Science and Tech II was closed on Monday, October 24 between 2:30-4:30pm.
For classes canceled on Monday, October 24 between 2:30-4:30pm in David King Hall and Science and Tech II, professors are asked to arrange  make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

 


Spring 2011 Semester

Tuesday, February 22

George Mason University is open at 10:00am. The following standard time blocks were affected:

  • 7:30 - 8:45 am
  • 9:00 - 10:15 am
For classes canceled on Tuesday, February 22 (start times before 10:00am), professors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.
Tuesday, February 1

George Mason University is open at 9:00am. The following standard time blocks were affected:

  • 7:30 - 8:45 am
For classes canceled on Tuesday, February 1 (start times before 9:00am), professors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.
Friday, January 28

George Mason University is open at 9:00am. The following standard time blocks were affected:

  • 7:30 - 8:20 am
  • 7:30 - 8:45 am
  • 8:30 - 9:20 am
Thursday, January 27

George Mason University is closed due to inclement weather. All time blocks were affected.

Wednesday, January 26

After 4:30 pm, Administrative offices are closed and classes are cancelled. The following standard time blocks were affected:

  • 4:30 - 7:10 pm
  • 7:20 - 10:00pm
For full semester classes canceled on Thursday January 27, 2011, Tuesday, May 10 will be the scheduled make-up day.

For classes canceled on Wednesday, January 26 (start times 4:30pm and later) and Friday, January 28 (start times before 9:00am), professors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.
 

Spring 2010 Semester

Monday, February 8 to Thursday, February 11
  • George Mason University was closed due to inclement weather. All time blocks were affected.

For classes missed February 8-11, see Spring 2010 Important Dates: May 4 - 7 are the scheduled make-up days.

The last day of classes is Friday, May 7. All classes that meet on Monday (including MWF or MW sections) will meet on this day.

Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6

George Mason University classes and campus activities were canceled at 12:30 pm, February 5, and all day Saturday.  The following standard time blocks were affected on Friday:

  • 12:30 - 1:20 pm
  • 1:30- 2:20 pm
  • 2:30 - 3:20 pm
  • 3:30 - 4:20 pm
  • 4:30 - 7:10 pm
  • 7:20 - 10:00pm

All time blocks were affected on Saturday, February 6.

Wednesday, February 3

All campuses opened at 10:00 am. The following standard time blocks were affected:

  • 7:30 - 8:20 am
  • 7:30 - 8:45 am
  • 8:30 - 9:20 am
  • 9:00- 10:15 am
  • 9:30 - 10:20 am
Tuesday, February 2

All campuses closed at 7:00pm due to inclement weather.  Law School classes were held as scheduled. The following standard time blocks were affected:

  • 7:20 - 10:00 pm
For classes missed on February 2, 3, 5 and 6, and classes which meet only during the first half of the semester, professors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.
