Curriculum Approval Process

All proposals for new or revised curriculum must be submitted through your College/School's Curriculum Committee. Please contact your Dean's Office for further details.

A Course Approval Form must be submitted for the following actions:

  • Create a new course
  • Modify an existing course (i.e. Change of title, credit hours, prereq/coreq, grading method, etc.)
  • Delete existing course

NOTE: Changing the subject code or course number requires deletion of the old course and creation of a new course.

If you are request approval for course to meet a University General Education requirement go to the Provost's General Education Resources for Faculty.

A Program Approval Form must be submitted for the following actions:

  • Create new program of study: degree, minor, undergraduate certificate, or graduate certificate. **For a new degree, you must also complete a SCHEV proposal, review the New Degree Program SCHEV Template for guidance.
  • Modify existing program - Add concentration(s), modify degree requirements
  • Delete existing program

All graduate courses and programs, once approved by your College Curriculum Committee, must be submitted to the University Graduate Council. More information on the process is posted on the Provost's Graduate Council website.
