Only graduates of Doctoral programs will receive their diplomas at the May Commencement ceremony. All other diplomas will be mailed to the diploma address you provided through the Graduation Intent Form process. Diplomas are mailed approximately 5-8 weeks after each conferral date.
You may order copies of your transcript through the Office of the Registrar. There is no transcript fee. Ordering details are available through the Transcripts Department.
Please Be Aware…
- IMPORTANT: Verify that your diploma name and diploma address are correct. If your diploma is printed with the name on the GIF and it is not correct, you will be charged $50 for a diploma reprint. Also, if your diploma is lost because the address on your record was incorrect, you will be charged $50 for a reprint.
- The Office of the Registrar does NOT provide a diploma for certificates. The name of the certificate program will be printed on your transcript.
- The Office of the Registrar does NOT print the name of a Minor on the diploma. The name of the Minor will be printed on your transcript.
- Your diploma name MUST reflect your name of record during the last term of attendance at George Mason. To add a middle name or a suffix, you must provide legal documentation in the form of a birth certificate, passport, marriage certificate, or a court document. If your name legally changes during your last term of attendance, you may request a name change by providing your marriage certificate. All name change requests must be done in person in the Records Department in the Office of the Registrar.
Diploma Re-Ordering
- You may order additional copies of your Diploma at any time. The processing fee for each additional diploma is $50.00. There is an additional charge for expedited and/or international shipping. The duplicate diploma process takes approximately 4-6 weeks to complete. Please submit a Duplicate Diploma Request form to the Graduation Department in the Office of the Registrar. Please mail the completed form, along with an acceptable form of payment, to:
