Spring 2015 Class Cancellations

Thursday March 5 and Friday March 6

On Thursday March 5th, classes were cancelled and administrative offices are closed across all campuses of George Mason University due to weather.   George Mason University administrative offices opened at 11:30 a.m. Friday March 6th due to weather. Only classes beginning at or after 11:30 a.m. will be held as scheduled.

For classes canceled on Thursday, March 5, the makeup day is Wednesday, May 6.   If the class meets only during the first half of the semester, professors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis.

For classes canceled on Friday, March 6 before 11:30 am, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made through your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the university closures, the final exam schedule has changed.    Final exams previously scheduled on Wednesday, May 6 have been rescheduled to a different day.  The exam time and location will remain the same unless notified in advance by the Registrar’s Office.  Please go to the Spring 2015 Academic Calendar (registrar.gmu.edu/calendars/spring-2015/final-exam) to review the changes.

If you do not need a classroom for your final exam, please notify the Registrar’s Office by sending an email to adhoc@gmu.edu so that we can reassign the classroom.

 


Monday, March 2

George Mason University opened at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2nd due to inclement weather. Only classes beginning at or after 10:30 a.m. were held as scheduled.

For classes canceled on Monday, March 2nd before 10:30 am, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made through your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Students should be contacted directly or via Blackboard regarding adjustments in patterns of assignments in the courses for which they are responsible.

 


Thursday, February 26

George Mason University opened at 12:00 p.m. Thursday February 26th due to inclement weather. Only classes beginning at or after 12:00 p.m. were held as scheduled.

For classes canceled on Thursday, February 26 before 12:00pm, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made through your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Students should be contacted directly or via Blackboard regarding adjustments in patterns of assignments in the courses for which they are responsible.

 


Saturday, February 21

George Mason University administrative offices closed Saturday February 21st at 1:00 p.m. and classes beginning at or after 1:00 p.m. are cancelled due to inclement weather.

For classes canceled on Saturday, February 21 at or after 1:00 pm, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made through your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Students should be contacted directly or via Blackboard regarding adjustments in patterns of assignments in the courses for which they are responsible.

 


Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17

George Mason University administrative offices closed Monday February 16th at 5:00 p.m. and classes beginning at or after 4:30 p.m. are cancelled due to inclement weather.  On Tuesday February 17th, classes are cancelled and administrative offices are closed across all campuses of George Mason University due to inclement weather.

For classes canceled on Monday, February 16 after 4:30 pm, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made through your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

For classes canceled on Tuesday, February 17, the make-up day is Tuesday, May 5.  There will be no scheduled Reading Day for the Spring semester.  For classes which meet only during the first half of the semester, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis.

Tuesday, January 27

George Mason University administrative offices opened at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday January 27th due to inclement weather.

For classes canceled on Tuesday, January 27 before 10:30am, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Due to the university’s late opening on Tuesday, January 27, students have until 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29 to submit a force add form (signed by the instructor or department) to the Office of the University Registrar to register for classes that meet Tuesday before 10:30 a.m.
