Spring 2014 Class Cancellations

Monday, March 17

For classes canceled on Monday, March 17, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom. Instructors are reminded to contact students, directly or via Blackboard, on adjustments in patterns of assignments in the courses for which they are responsible.

Instructors should confirm their final exam date and time. The final exam time has been shortened to accommodate university closures and delayed openings. See the Spring 2014 Final Exam Schedule to see the updated schedule.

Wednesday, March 5

Due to a conflict with Convocations scheduled on Wednesday, May 14, all exams currently scheduled after 12pm have been rescheduled to Saturday, May 10 at the same time and location. Please review the Spring 2014 Final Exam Schedule for your new exam day and time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Tuesday, March 4

For classes canceled on Tuesday, March 4 before 12:00pm, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Students should be contacted, directly or via Blackboard, on adjustments in patterns of assignments in the courses for which they are responsible.

Monday, March 3

For classes canceled on Monday, March 3, the makeup day is Thursday, May 8.   For classes which meet only during the first half of the semester, professors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis.

Due to the university closure, the final exam schedule has changed.    Finals scheduled on Thursday, May 8 have been rescheduled to Wednesday, May 14 at the same time and location.  Please go to the Spring 2014 Academic Calendar to review the changes.  If you do not need the classroom for your final exam, please notify the Registrar’s Office by sending an email to adhoc@gmu.edu.

Friday, February 14

For classes canceled on Friday, February 14, the makeup day is Wednesday, May 7.   For classes which meet only during the first half of the semester, professors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis.

Wednesday, February 12 and Thursday, February 13

For classes canceled on Wednesday, February 12 after 7:20pm, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Students should be contacted, directly or via Blackboard, on adjustments in patterns of assignments in the courses for which they are responsible.

For classes canceled on Wednesday, February 5 before 10:30 am, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis.  Requests for make-up classrooms should be directed to your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Students should be contacted directly or via Blackboard regarding adjustments in patterns of assignments for the courses in which they are enrolled.

Wednesday, January 22

For classes cancelled on Wednesday, January 22nd before 10:30am, instructors are asked to arrange make-ups on an ad hoc basis. Requests for make-up classrooms should be made to your department’s scheduling coordinator, who will work with the Office of the University Registrar to secure an appropriate classroom.

Tuesday, January 21

Due to the university’s early closing on Tuesday, January 21st, the last day to add classes/drop with no tuition penalty has been moved to Wednesday, January 29th.  Please check the academic calendar at https://registrar.gmu.edu/calendars/2014spring/ for further information.
