Reported Issues

Below is a list of issues that have been reported to the Office of the University Registrar related to the September 2025 Patriot Web (PW) upgrade. This list may not reflect the most recent or comprehensive collection of known issues, but is intended to provide some general guidance on what has already been submitted to us.

Please note: Patriot Web is vendor-sourced software and George Mason University is unable to modify the system directly. We are reporting issues and feedback to the vendor. We take all reports seriously and will continue to provide solutions where possible and escalate to ITS or the vendor as appropriate.

Theme Reported Issue Notes
Grading CRN sort on grade entry page. In the Faculty Grade Entry interface, Midterm Grades tab does not sort by most recent term but sorts by CRN across all terms (different configuration than the Final Grades tab) Status: Reported to the vendor. Recommended workaround: Use the search box in the upper right to quickly locate your course. See our Grade Entry guide for more information.
Advisee Information In the Student Profile,  citizenship and rate code are not displayed in the new PW. Status: We have temporarily applied the old version of the Student Information Menu, but that will be inactivated by early December. There is currently no longer term solution available in PW, because these fields are not supported in the new version. The OUR is investigating the possibility of offering a Microstrategy report as an alternative.
Advisee Information Alternative addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers are not displayed in the new PW. In the old PW version the Student Information menu provided this information in the student record. The new version of PW does not support these data elements. Status: This is a limitation of the product configuration and is not something that we can modify.
Navigation Users may have difficulty locating a specific tile. Faculty and Advisors have the option to click on the “Faculty & Advisors” tab to display the “Faculty Self-Service” and “Advisor Self-Service” tiles. Users can also click VIEW ALL CARDS to display all tiles, including those that may have been hidden from view on the Home tab.
Class List for Advisors Class lists are not available for Advisors. In the new PW, the class lists are not available to Advisors. Status: We have temporarily applied the old version of the Student Information Menu, but that will be inactivated by early December.
