Credential and Graduation Application Views

Effective July 9, 2026, the Mason Degree Audit can display requirements grouped by their related credential (the “Credential View”) and graduation application view. The underlying functionality and audit behavior remain unchanged. This page details features of the new views and highlights some differences from the previous views in the application.

Feature Enhancement Highlights

  1. Credential view creates a more organized display of students’ programs, grouping them by degree. For example, a student with both an undergraduate certified degree and an active graduate degree will have each degree and its requirement components grouped together as opposed to intertwined.
  2. When a student applies to graduate, the audit will display a graduation clearance section, identifying the degree(s)/credential(s) and term(s) for which the student has applied.
  3. When a student’s degree is awarded, the degree/credential will automatically be “locked” the following day, allowing the program requirements to be frozen at the time of conferral. Even if a student continues on in another program, the certified degree’s requirements will be frozen and will not change or move within the audit.
  4. An entire degree or credential is now collapsible, allowing for a more efficient approach to finding requirements. Also, certified degrees will default to a collapsed view, with the option to expand.
  5. Credential and graduation application views are a precursor to additional feature enhancements coming soon, including a degree clearance module, as well as constraints that can be applied across an entire degree. More details to follow soon.
